Animal rights in Russia are practically non-existent and the ever-growing plight of abandoned, wronged, tortured dogs keeps volunteers extremely busy and financially drained with their desperate efforts to save as many lives as possible. Pandemic made it so much more difficult - unlike here people started to get rid of their dogs, poison strays, burn them alive in animal holdings.

We have built a sanctuary in Russia to give shelter to those who'd never have a chance at survival. They are safe, fed and cared for but no rescue is complete until the dog has found a family. So we fly them to USA to their new homes. Many live happily in different parts of the USA. Unfortunately, the pandemic put a halt on the flights and once they resumed, airlines quadrupled their fees and tightened up their regulations, making it almost impossible for us to fund the flight in full like we used to.
