Besides maintaining a sanctuary, we are trying to do our part in rescuing animals in need by partnering with volunteers and rescues to collectively save as many as possible. In Russia, animal laws are non-existent. Most of its population treats dogs as patio furniture, at best. Old dogs can be replaced with young, young can be discarded because they grow up too quickly and do not resemble a toy anymore. People don’t believe in sterilization to control the population and the litters end up on the side of the roads or in trash barrels. Dogs are tortured, poisoned, shot at, ran over by cars, being hung, or burned for entertainment or because there is no means for humane euthanasia. People do not understand that we share the land with animals, and should not exploit them for wealth or entertainment. As a rescue, we deal with a lot of devastation every day and we can’t do it without your support! Each dog’s story will make you cry, each needs help, and below you will find some of those we are trying to help right now. Look into their eyes, read their story, and see if you can help them to rise to a better future.
In Need of Rescue
“Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind’s capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights or power or some claim to equality, but in a sense because they don’t; because they all stand unequal and powerless before us.”
