About Mani

Mani is a 5 year-old Golden Retriever mix, weighing around 70 lbs. He is a sweet, loving boy (a puppy at heart), who has been through a lot and is looking for a special family to call his own. 

Mani has had a difficult, trauma-filled past. Getting picked on by bigger dogs, surviving a high kill shelter, and languishing in another shelter for many months.  Despite his sad past, Mani is sweet, joyful, and devoted – he is a big baby, who fully embraces all the good things life has to offer: he loves his walks, toys, treats, and attention. While his face is covered with scars, his doggie heart is full of forgiveness and love. 

Given his abuse history, Mani needs a special, rescue-experienced family, who understands that it takes time to heal and feel safe. With slow introductions, Mani will be a perfect gentleman, but he will need you to guide and help him in his healing journey. In the end, there is nothing as rewarding as seeing a rescue blossom into the dog they have always meant to be. Mani is exactly that dog. 

Mani would be a good fit for a family with no children, and would do best with a situation where his humans are around a lot. He does well with smaller dogs and female dogs, but can be cautious with larger males. 

Mani is healthy, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines.
