Big Little Life Animal Rescue
Even though this baby doesn't have bleeding wounds, bullet injuries, or broken limbs, this little one is very much a victim of human cruelty. Unbelievably, this kitten was discarded in a dumpster, inside a tied plastic bag, full of used kitty litter.A young man found him in a trash bin. While throwing out garbage, he heard a faint squeak. He pulled out a bag from the container, tore it open, and saw a half-dead, suffocating kitten. The kitten's entire body, eyes, and ears were covered in urine-soaked and feces-filled litter. The man took the kitten to a veterinary clinic where they washed and provided medical care for him. The kitten turned out to be a luxurious, fluffy, purebred Maine Coon, no more than three months old. How could someone do this to such a noble animal? We will never know. Our only guess is that someone got rid of him this way because he was not well.Indeed, poor baby was in dire condition. He was emaciated, weak and refused food and water. Veterinarians checked him for infections and various viruses. Kitten started to have vomiting and diarrhea. The vets thought he might have feline leukemia. However, all the tests came back negative except for coronavirus. Treatment for the coronavirus began, and we were hopeful that the little one would recover and find a loving home. However, after a few days, his symptoms worsened. His diarrhea intensified, he started having gastrointestinal bleeding. He was so emaciated that his lymph nodes were swollen and visible. The doctors believe that an infection had indeed invaded his weak, unprotected body. Aphon was moved to intensive care, and the fight for his life continues. He urgently needs our prayers and funds to cover his medical expenses. We hope he will survive, stand on his little paws again, and that his beauty will blossom and flourish, helping him forget the garbage dump where he was found.🔹 Venmo: @biglittlelife🔹 PayPal: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=GT999KKB4XFL8🔹 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🔹 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🔹 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🔹 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ... Update: PichuPichu's treatment has shown very little improvement in his skin condition, so we had to conduct further testing. It has given us a clearer picture of what we're dealing with, though challenges remain. The results suggest that Pichu is likely dealing with pemphigus foliaceus, a skin condition where the immune system attacks the skin, causing blisters and sores. It's heartbreaking to think about the suffering Pichu endured while tethered outside without shade or proper care, and later when he was seen as a threat while trying to survive on the streets. Left untreated, this condition can lead to constant pain, severe infections, and extreme discomfort. To protect him, Pichu has to be isolated from other animals and can't spend much time in the sun. We've put him in an outside kennel that has its own shaded exercise area with a slight breeze. He enjoys daily walks when the sun isn't strong, and he's always so sweet and gentle. Right now Pichu takes soothing baths and is on prednisone to help manage his condition. This diagnosis is not confirmed yet, and we will consult a specialist for further evaluation. We're deeply grateful for your ongoing support and concern for Pichu. We'll keep you updated on Pichu's progress and any new developments in his care.🔹 Venmo: @biglittlelife🔹 PayPal: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=XPVKYJQ8K7D3A🔹 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🔹 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🔹 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🔹 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ... Update: AkatsiaIt's been over a month of endless surgeries for Akatsia. Her wounds were so extensive that it’s no wonder it is taking so long for her to heal. We are just grateful that she survived and that the doctors were able to save her leg, which was at real risk for a while. She is exhausted, both physically and emotionally, but she’s holding on.Akatsia is now at a stage where she can be looked after by a shelter vet tech, so she is going to be discharged tomorrow. Her wounds are slowly healing, but her treatment is far from over and is demanding - Akatsia will need ongoing care and frequent medical visits. The reality is that our funds have been depleted after over a month of intensive care for Akatsia. We urgently need your support to cover her medical expenses and ensure she receives the ongoing care necessary for a full recovery.Would you please help Akatsia? Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a HUGE difference. Thank you.🔹 Venmo: @biglittlelife🔹 PayPal: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=L2R2EBS66JUV4🔹 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🔹 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🔹 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🔹 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ... It seems there is no break for Valerik. His life was a nightmare, and his treatment hasn't been easy either. Just a day ago, Valerik underwent his third surgery.Recently, bacteria were found in the fluid in his abdominal cavity and in the surgical implant placed during his first operation. The bacterial infection had spread, making it necessary to remove the internal implant to eliminate the infection. The surgeons had to place an external implant instead. He also needed another blood transfusion. The clinical blood analysis still shows many parameters out of range. At the moment, Valerik is stable, and we are cautiously optimistic that this marks the end of the setbacks. We hope that from now on, we will see only positive developments in his recovery.Valerik’s case is perhaps the most challenging one we've encountered but we are determined to fight to the end. Please support Valerik while he is not out of the woods yet. Your donations are crucial to cover his ongoing medical expenses and to provide him with the care he needs to heal and regain his strength. Thank you for standing by Valerik and giving him hope for a life without pain.🔹 Venmo: @biglittlelife🔹 PayPal: www.paypal.com/donate/...🔹 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🔹 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🔹 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🔹 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ... Update on Valerik's condition.Overnight, the drainage has produced a significant amount of fluid—130 ml, which is quite a lot. A fluid culture showed the presence of bacteria, so the antibiotic has been changed based on these results.Yesterday, a surgeon operated on Valerik to trim the protruding bone and suture the muscles to prevent the fistulas from reappearing. Valerik needs to remain in the hospital under the care of doctors because his condition is still fragile. In addition to his spinal fracture, he also has a broken thoracic spine, making his condition particularly complex. The good news is that today he is breathing easier without additional oxygen. His appetite is good, and he is quite alert. We are facing significant financial challenges with Valerik's ongoing care due to its high cost. Even the videos for these updates come with a cost. If you are able, please consider donating to help cover Valerik's medical bills and ongoing care. Every little bit helps!Thank you for your ongoing support and patience. We will keep you updated on Valerik's progress.🔹 Venmo: @biglittlelife🔹 PayPal: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=XPVKYJQ8K7D3A🔹 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🔹 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🔹 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🔹 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ...
