Hello from the belle of Toronto, our lovely Amy! 😍Her mom loves her to bits and can't stop singing her praises. They are conquering the city together – from shopping sprees to café hopping, and even cheering on their favorite soccer team in the summer. Amy's become quite the urban sophisticate, happily embracing city life. She loves riding buses and streetcars. It wouldn't be a shocker if Amy, with the street smarts she gained during her tough journey, memorizes the transit routes even better than most locals! But Amy's not just a city slicker; she's a social butterfly too. She loves chatting and always has a happy vibe. That smile of hers, the one that melted our hearts back in the TNVR program, is now a permanent thing. It's like her own little superpower that makes everyone around her smile too. 😄Life is awesome for Amy in Toronto, and we're over the moon. From the streets of Tula to the heart of the Toronto city, her journey shows how love can change everything. Here's to more fun, laughs, and happy moments for Amy in her forever home! 🐾💕#amy_biglittlelife ... See MoreSee Less

What we learned about Angel’s past is heartbreaking. Before he ended up at the crematorium, he lived chained up in his owner’s backyard for 10 plus years. He was beaten; there is no doubt about that. During the vet visit, we discovered old scars on his face and head. It looks like someone had hit him with a sharp object across his face twice, lacerating it in a crisscross pattern. His jaw was also broken and had already healed incorrectly. Neighbors say the house he lived by burned down with the owner still inside.During all his life, Angel knew no compassion. He aged on a chain, suffered from wounds without any help, and didn’t expect anything good at the end. But he was wrong. We are happy to tell you he is safe now. He is warm, he eats well, he is almost free of the bugs that were crawling all over his matted fur, biting his irritated skin. At his very first vet visit yesterday, we did all the tests, including x-rays, ultrasound, and blood work, to find every issue we can still fix. What we know right now is that he has a prostate issue, a cough from a cold, and possibly liver problems. Additionally, he has sores on his paws, and the remaining teeth on one side are rotten. Once the blood test results are back, he'll get the right treatments and supportive therapy appropriate for a guy his age. And, very very soon he will visit a groomer... also for the first time. He will have so many firsts now, and we hope he enjoys living from now on. We are determined to provide that for him. Please support Angel and other crematorium survivors by donating. Any size of the donation is appreciated and HELPS.🐾 Venmo: @biglittlelife🐾 PayPal Giving: www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4413748🐾 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🐾 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🐾 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🐾 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ... Smile from home #beforeandafter #AdoptedAndAdoredCouldn't resist sharing the smile of newly adopted Juli. 😁Her carefree grin speaks volumes about the love and happiness she's found in her forever home. Thank you to Juli's wonderful adoptive family for turning her "before" into an everlasting and perfect "happily ever after." 🐾💖 #AdoptDontShop Juli was an exhausted Mama, prisoner to a chain heavier than herself. She spent her life knowing no love. Her world was a tiny perimeter inside a dirty backyard. She even gave birth on that chain, and each of her litters was drowned in a bucket of water in front of her eyes.#juli_biglittlelife ... See MoreSee Less

We have an update for you just in time for #GivingTuesday #tesla_biglittlelifeWhen possible we always try to uncover the backstory of the dogs we rescue to comprehend the challenges they've faced. In Tesla's case, according to locals, when she was abandoned she joined a pack of dogs residing in the woods. Kind-hearted individuals had constructed warm kennels for them so they can hide from the elements. Unfortunately, it did not protect them from humans.Yesterday morning, while the dogs were sleeping inside, someone maliciously poured gasoline on the wooden shelters and set them on fire. Tragically, two dogs did not survive the horrifying incident. Tesla, with her limited ability to run, would likely have been one of the casualties if returned to her habitat.Later that day, a local woman witnessed the dogs returning to their charred homes. The police have not responded to a crime scene. It raises the question: has the world reached a point of no return, where human aggression is escalating like never before? Innocent, voiceless, and less-protected creatures are paying the price with their lives. This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need for greater compassion and protection for those who cannot speak for themselves.Tesla was lucky...Several days ago, she arrived in St. Petersburg and already visited the surgeon for a consultation. All necessary tests have been conducted, but doctor suspects Polyarthritis possibly due to untreated infection. There are simply no joints in her front paws, and there are problems with the hind legs as well...We'll take it step by step. If there's an infection, we'll administer antibiotics and then proceed with surgery. If everything is clear, we'll order the 'parts' and begin the recovery process for the girl. While awaiting the results of the culture test, we need to perform a CT scan. Based on that, the doctor will model and order all the necessary 'parts'...Tesla is, of course, under a lot of stress. She will likely need socialization, and everything happening with her health does not contribute to her happiness. She went to a temporary home-based boarding to adapt. For her foster mom, working with her will be a task, but not everything is easy and straightforward in this line of work—almost never. It's a very, very challenging case with many risks, but we're doing what needs to be done and believing in the best 🙏🏼 Please stand with us and, if you can, donate to help Tesla feel better. 🐾 Venmo: @biglittlelife🐾 PayPal Giving: www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4413748🐾 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🐾 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🐾 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🐾 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue ... We continue our battle with the owner to make him let go of more dogs. It was a real struggle to convince him to let go of this poor, sick old boy, but a few days ago we finally managed it. He's safe with us now. This sweet old fella, we named him Angel, has no teeth left, his eyes tell a tale of rough times—maybe some trauma in his past. He's skin and bones because, for over three weeks, they didn't feed dogs regularly at this shelter, and when they did, it was just dry kibble he couldn't chew. Fleas and ticks are all over him, and his legs bear the marks of old wounds. He is very dehydrated to the point that when lifted his skin does not bounce back at all. We've scheduled a vet visit for a thorough check-up and a plan to make him better. While he's getting treated for those nasty bugs, we're piecing together his story, figuring out how this old soul ended up in such a terrible place at this stage of his life. Your support means the world to give him a chance at a little comfort and care for as long as he has left. 🐾❤️🐾 Venmo: @biglittlelife🐾 PayPal Giving: www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4413748🐾 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🐾 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🐾 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🐾 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescuelinktr.ee/bllr ... Tesla was picked up by Animal Control from the streets in rural Russia in a condition that raises doubts about whether she was always a stray. With nearly every joint destroyed by inflammation and not a single compassionate human around, Tesla crawled through the neighborhood on her bent legs, bleeding from scrapes against the pavement. Dogs like this do not survive on the street for long. They are an easy target for both stronger strays and humans.Physically and emotionally exhausted Tesla was brought in for sterilization with an intent to be returned to where she was found. These seven days, the typical hold time for dogs, was her break from the streets and became the happiest days of her life—she was warm, safe, and no longer hungry. As her stay was ending, volunteers from nearby shelter took her in. They couldn’t let her be released on the streets; however, the overcrowded shelter could offer no more than a kennel outside, a bowl of food and a vet visit. X-rays revealed that the joints in all her legs are destroyed due to polyarthritis. She's not even three yet, and every step she takes is excruciatingly painful. There's no chance she will survive a winter outside. She's scared and defensive due to constant pain in her legs, a condition so severe that there's no doubt it didn’t happen overnight. She has been suffering like this, worsening every day, for a long time. Unfortunately, local vets can't provide the help she needs,, and without treatment and surgery, Tesla's health will deteriorate, leading to a painful end.We can transport her to St. Petersburg to be seen by Jaqueline’s surgeon (you've may have seen the miracles he's done with her), and he's optimistic that he can help Tesla. Her treatment plan is extensive, involving clearing the infection first followed by several surgeries, and rehabilitation. What is the most important, she will be living in a home setting, surrounded by love and care. With everything we have going on right now, we could use your help. Let's join forces and make a difference for a small dog that never knew life without pain! Please consider donating to Telsla’s diagnostics and multiple surgeries she desperately needs. 🐾 Venmo: @biglittlelife🐾 PayPal Giving: www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4413748🐾 Web: www.biglittleliferescue.org/donate🐾 Zelle: admin@biglittleliferescue.org🐾 Cashapp: $biglittlelife🐾 Benevity: Big Little Life Animal Rescue#tesla_biglittlelife ...
